Last spring, I installed and tested an inexpensive 40 amp MPPT solar charge controller sold online by BougeRV. So far, it’s been working well. Recently I was contacted by the actual manufacturer of the controller. A company called SRNE. They asked if I’d want to look at a different model of their RV solar charge controllers. It too is 40 amps but has a built-in screen and extra output terminals to power up to a 20 amp load.

The timing was great as I was actually thinking about replacing the old PWM-type controller that I’ve used since 2015. I can now run dual 40 amp SRNE MPPT controllers for my RV solar system charging. In this video I give you a look at the various features of the SRNE model ML2440, a look inside, then my installation and demo of it in action.

I’m planning to use these dual solar controllers for my upcoming desert boondocking this winter. I’ll come back in January or February 2022 with a second video reviewing how they are performing. Stay tuned.

Review Update after 4 1/2 Months of Use
Given some real-world testing, a brief update video on how the 40A MPPT SRNE solar controller I installed back in November is working out. We have been camping almost exclusively off-grid since then, and the SRNE controllers so far have performed well.
