Salton Sea SRA Camping and Visit to the Dos Palmes Preserve, California
Mid-December 2021 finds us camped at a favorite snowbird location. The Salton Sea State Recreation Area near Palm Springs. In the video, I give you a look at our camping location called Salt Creek, the terrain, and the wildlife. Later we took a short drive to nearby Los Palmas Reserve to check out an oasis of natural palm trees.
Salt Creek is primitive camping with no hookups but has garbage cans, portapotties, picnic tables, and some fire rings. The current rate is $10 a night in a self-registration box. Water and a dump station can be found a few miles down the road at the Headquarters campground and visitor center.
Have you ever checked out the Fountain of Youth Spa and Resort? Very nice location near Bombay Beach. If your driving around you should drop in. I am the recreation director and I would be happy to give you a tour. You can also visit on a daily basis and enjoy the pools and spas, get a massage, steam bath, mineral soaking tubs, Pickleball, bocce ball, and much more.

Have seen it driving by before, looks like a small town!
We stayed at Bashfords a few years ago and soaked in the tubs. Anne liked that. Will come check it out next time we are in the area.
