Daytime highs have been around 60F the last couple of days, they actually hit 80F a few days ago but that was higher than normal for this time of year.

Rainy, cloudy, and cool this morning at Antelope Island State Park on the Great Salt Lake but skies cleared in the afternoon making for a beautiful scene. This is a photo I took from the visitor center.

It is late March 2022, and we are RVing through northwestern Utah and wanted to check out the famous Great Salt Lake. The best way to do that looked like a stop at Antelope Island State Park. Luckily the campgrounds looked like they had large pull-thru sites that would easily accommodate our 30-foot fifth wheel and truck.

They had two loops open, no hookups, and full hookups. Off-season rates were $20 and $30, respectively. I believe that come April, they jump 10 bucks.
Anyway, the campsites are terrific. Plenty of room spaced well apart with metal shelter, tables, and firepit. For dry campers, there is a nearby dump station and freshwater fill. The only real negative I've heard about is that, at times, the flies and no-see-um bugs can get out of hand. But, usually, that is later on in the season as the temps start to warm up.

In this video, I have footage of the camping area and gorgeous scenery from our driving and hiking explorations around Antelope Island. I also take a trek across the vast beach to the edge of the Great Salt Lake. It was a calm evening, and the lake was glassy smooth with reflections making for a fantastic scene.

One highlight of the visit was the wildlife. The island has seen almost no development. It's a haven for many animals. Lots of birds, bighorn sheep, pronghorn, mule deer, jackrabbits, etc., and even a herd of Bison. One evening a giant Bison wandered right through our campsite!
