Hi Folks, just a quick note to share a post so I can get the word out to other who might have this same issue. I have a Rockwood Mini Lite 2104S 2017, and while doing a grey tank replacement (cracked grey tank that epoxy wouldnt fix), my buddy Eddie Glonek (http://mobilehomesteading.com) found 2 soon-to-be catastrophic cracks in our trailers frame.
The short version of the story is : we were an accident waiting to happen, and the rig is unrepairable at this point. Eddie saved us OR others on the highways from serious injury or worse.
We now have a new rig and we are in the process of moving almost 5 years of mods from the old to the new.
To see a detailed write up with lots of pictures of the 16+ total frame cracks, check out this post :
Damn, there’s some seriously poor engineering right there. Somebody at the manufacturer with an engineering degree approved that design, so they do have some sort of liability. Two 30 gallon tanks to the rear of the rear axle and a slideout?? Reckless in my mind.
Wow!!! Unbelievable!! We have a 2008 Rockwood 30 foot fiver... I will definitely check out the frame tomorrow..... I just replaced the black water tank valve... easy to do, but had to open up the "cardboard " underbelly....
