I finally got around to replacing the stock unit in our 5th wheel.

The new unit is made by micro-air, the same folks who make the soft starts for air conditioners.

Installing is simple. It came ready to accept all then same wires in the same order into the back. No need to open the case. It's a little fidgety as the wires are small and close together but with a second set of hands we had it together in about 5 minutes.

What's really cool is that the t-stat cam be operated by either blue tooth or wifi. This makes it ease to check the temperature remotely and make adjustments. Great peace of mind if you have pets inside or just want to cool things off before you return.

You can also set it up with timers which will be nice on cold mornings. It can be programmed to run furnace or heat pump or both. On the stock t-stat any more than 4 degrees temp rise set for the heat pump resulted in the furnace also kicking on. That made for running back and forth from the bed bumping 4 degree increments to save on propane when we didn't need to run the furnace.

Set up was easy through their app. I guess the only downside is the price. I paid $259.00 for it. I see amazon is out of stock now but it looks like you can get one direct for micro air.
