Weird, I've never heard of one that automatically knows it's moving and shutdowns. I wonder if you have an intermittent leak, and just the trailer movement flexing the frame and things cause it, and the propane safety valve shuts off the system.

Ray, not dismissing the suggestion but I did have a similar thought so on a flat surface while hooked up and gas running I moved ahead about 20 ft. It went out. I thought just maybe for 2023 something might have been added to the computer board (accelerometer chip? ) that detects motion ?? I’ve heard that several states have made it illegal to travel with the gas running but never researched it as I wasn’t concerned.. Local rv service tech told me he was required to say,” do not travel with gas running” but has not serviced one as new as mine yet. I think I’ll contract Norcold & see what they say, & then start tracking the line. Thank you for the reply..

I imagine having a magnetic or optical sensor on one of the wheel hubs would be an easy way to let the fridge controller know the trailer is moving.

Keep us posted when/if you solve this. FYI, Norcold's customer support is not very helpful many times. They cite that propane being volatile is the reason they only give support to authorized shops. Sorry this gremlin has crept into your fridge at such an early stage.

Drew; you are correct about Norcold customer service. After being on hold I left a message 5 days ago. Yet to hear back. All their on line info leads to;” talk to an authorized dealer “. I’ll follow up once I get to my home base

Herb, I know this is a new trailer. so not suggesting you make a change, but I am looking at replace my gas/electric Norcold with a 12v compressor type fridge to eliminate propane at fridge and issues while traveling. Never been real happy with propane on really hot days. Also I have a portable 12v Dometic fridge that we have used as an extra freezer....been real happy with it. Wonder why new trailers don't come with 12v fridges?

RobBob; Thank you. Yes; I agree. Although over the years we have had no issues until this new one. We did try to order ours with the 12v compressor Refirg but it was not an option. Outdoor RV does not offer it as an option. I would have to pay the full retail + installation. I am capable of the installation but doubtful I'd get 50 cents on the dollar trying to sell the existing one. The Evaporative type have worked very well for us over our 40+ year of RV-n though... As a side note... I did take my air compressor and blew out the area and burner area. It worked well for one leg of the trip this last week... We'll keep plugging away.

Hi Herb, ORV....what we have, 2016 model. Love the trailer and fridge works good until we get over 90 degree, then have trouble keeping it cold. Just bought new tow vehicle so upgrading fridge will need to wait. Hope you found solution to traveling with fridge on. Cheers.
