In this video, I show you around Columbia Hills Historical State Park on the Washington side of the Columbia River near The Dalles. A small campground and day-use area are located beside the man-made Horsethief Lake.
Major draws to the park are camping, fishing, wildflower viewing, and hiking. The area is rich in history, from ancient geology to Native American and Oregon trail frontier settlements. Columbia Hills makes a great base to explore the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area.
