    Howdy,
New member and new RV owner. :^)
I have a 1998 Gulf Stream Conquest 22’. I just replaced the 6 gal Suburban water heater with the same gas-only model - and replaced check valve for good measure. (BTW - viewed Ray's post on this water heater installation several times beforehand - great video!). Connected water, gas and 12v wires. When I turn on the pump I get water from the faucet but nothing flowing into the water heater.
We have two switches on our control panel, one for the pump and another labeled "water heater". I know the system shouldn’t be lit without water in the tank, but I’m assuming it should fill when empty. I did turn the "water heater" switch on and it lit the burner - so that part works (I turned it off right away).
I disconnected the cold water pipe to the unit and it was dry.
I'm assuming it should start filling when the pump switch is turned on?
    Any ideas for next steps?

    Thanks
    Eric

Hi Eric, ensure the water heater isn't set for winterizing bypass mode. Usually, there are one or more turn valves that set that. On mine it's behind the water heater

You called it Ray, but my bypass valve wasn’t near the water heater. It was “conveniently” located inside an exterior storage compartment, that I accessed from under the rear bed. It’s my fault b/c I never turned it back on after we got it winterized last fall.
    Live and learn.
    Thanks!
    Eric
