Our 2018 Ram pickup is now five years old, and we love it. However, it has recently developed an annoying intermittent problem with the Anti-lock Braking System. Often, when the truck is cold or sometimes when we hit a bump or rough road, a warning will chime, trouble lights appear, and a message flashes on the dash. The fault causes loss of ABS, traction control, and cruise control functions.
In this video, I share the information I have found about the possible causes and parts involved. I also do a scan with my Bluedriver OBD2 Port scanner and show the results of what it reports after a scan for codes. It appears to be a common problem with the ABS on the 2017-18 Ram trucks. There is even an open investigation into it on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website.
