Fruita Campground Capitol Reef
If you are visiting Capitol Reef, this is a good place to stay because you are right in middle of the action. The sites are a little close together with no hook-ups. Also, there are no showers, but there is water available & flush toilets and a dump station. Unfortunately, the trees had not leafed out when we were there, so no shade, but the apricot trees in the orchards were blooming.
The views from the campground are gorgeous.
If you like to hike, there are numerous hikes all around the park. Hickman Bridge was a highlight for us. There is also a scenic drive that follows the old road used by travelers before Highway 24 was completed. There are interesting stops along this drive.
If you can't get in this campground, there is a BLM site close by and there are many RV parks in nearby Torrey.
Nice pictures, it looks like an awesome spot.
Gorgeous. The campground was full when we were there a few years ago, so we boondocked at the BLM just west of Fruita toward Torrey. We did drive the the end of the drivable old road and we also enjoyed some delicious Fruita pies.
