Beautiful aren’t they. Ole Ding Darling. We would make a run through it on fridays to pick up trash. It was closed that day to the public. We had it all to ourselves.
Yesterday we had a ton of eagles visiting the spit, counted 24. Got this photo from our campsite, 8 eagles perched in a tree across the estuary, little blurry due to the extreme zoom and cropping needed.
Several of them are juveniles and haven't got the famous white heads of a Bald Eagle yet.
Got a big surprise this morning as a black bear darted across the estuary behind our campsite here in Campbell River BC and disappeared into the bushes. I was sitting in the rig looking out the back window, just had time to grab the video camera and catch a glimpse.
