Reolink Go 4G Mobile Security Camera Review

In this video, I unbox, setup, and give you a quick look at the new Reolink Go wireless 4G security camera in action.
After I use it for a few weeks, I'll be back with an in-depth review.

This rechargeable battery operated camera is designed to go almost anywhere and report back video and audio via the 4G cellular networks. Looks like a great gadget for RVers to help with campsite/boondocking/RV storage security. Or, catch wildlife clips as an easy to use the game cam.

I also show the optional Reolink solar panel which will keep the Reolink Go powered up pretty well indefinitely.

I am interested to see your long term update as well as more clarification on how it functions. Having another cell plan isn't appealing though. Curious about data consumption and how files are stored past the 32gig card. Does it report to the cloud in the event someone just steals the camera?

Most folks would go for a WiFi-based camera but if no WiFi this is an interesting setup.
I believe it will overwrite old data on the card in a loop. Overall I see the product as a niche thing due to the expense of data here in Canada, we have terribly high rates for data only plans, like $20-30 a gig.
The company figures about 1 gig a month if you are briefly checking it a few times a day, but if one was to stream its max resolution of 1080P for long periods it would really eat data. The camera settings allow resolution adjustment to reduce data use.
But its sold around the world and many have cheap data so not as big a deal in many places.
The cloud service can be turned on or off. They have a free level and then paid levels. https://cloud.reolink.com/ I have it off right now as it would blow through my data, but will test it.

In this second video, I provide a detailed view of the free smartphone app that mates with the Reolink Go camera via a 4G cellular plan. I go through the various control, display and settings screens.

Overall I give the Reolink Go a thumbs up. If you really need to keep an eye on something and only have cell coverage to do it with, this camera is a good option.
