Looking for advice from the radio gurus (I know those things that magically get signals from the air). We camp in Missouri and quite a number of campgrounds do not have good cell service and no Wi-Fi at the camp sites. With the Midwest weather and the chance of storms including tornados, I want to keep the family safe. We travel with a weather radio that can be set for the county we are in. The problem is the aluminum frame of the camper acts as a faraday cage and the antenna does not work on the inside. My weather radio can accept an external antenna. I don't necessarily want to add an additional antenna to the rig and I tried hooking to the TV antenna (since access was very easy) but it didn't seem to work. I am guessing there is an FM trap on the signal booster. I do have a FM radio antenna but access is more difficult and would need to make up a cable to go from the FM antenna to a RCA plug (which isn't a huge deal for me). If I somehow bypass the signal booster on the TV antenna, would that work? Or should I just bit the bullet and remove the radio and hook into the FM antenna? Thanks.
