The cost of having your propane tanks stolen from your RV can be prevented with this quick and inexpensive mod.
Can you imagine the inconvenience of having your tanks stolen when you are boondocking in the middle of nowhere. Without propane, you can kiss your fridge stuff goodbye.

Hey ray good videos—-my tanks came off my trailer due to high winds while traveling—-the plastic cover rocked back and forth in the wind and broke the all-rod in the middle and both tanks fell off the platform onto the road before I could stop— what a mess will not travel with plastic cover on again. My only worry would be if the rig was on fire and the fire department needed to quickly remove the tanks. I know that fifth wheels come with LP gas storage doors without locks installed for that purpose. Not sure what the laws are regarding LP tanks on travel trailers.

That could be a concern but have you ever seen the fire equipment they carry for breaking stuff. Tanks are disappearing regularly, there are so many street people and bottom feeders looking for a freebee they can use or sell for a few bucks. That's the world we live in.

Good idea. I took a bike lock cable, ran it through the top of both tanks and around the frame of the tongue. I figure you could get it off with a bolt cutter but there are easier targets around for the thefts.
