We have successfully and incident free, run Hankook 7.50 R16LT Vantage f19 Maxi for 8 years and over 80,000 miles (2 sets of tires).
That model has apparently been discontinued and we are due for new tires on the 5th wheel between now and May 2020 when we start our 4+ month cross Canada trek.
We are looking for replacement recommendations. Two come up - Sailun S637ST and Goodyear G614
Although our current tire says LT, they are not a light truck tire as one would use in a pickup or van for carrying cargo. When the LT comes before the number designation, that is the typical light truck tire. The Hankook we have, the LT comes after the number, and in this case the designation is light truck to carry weight, but more importantly, it is considered the “baby brother” to a semi trailer tire, with consideration for that type of application.
Thanks for any suggestions, along with best tire shop to use. Cost of tire is less important than quality and long term value.
I Run Sailun on my rig couldn’t be happier I’ve had them for a couple years now and they look as good as when i put them on. When its time to replace i will go with the same. I have never seen a bad review on these tires. The Goodyear’s G614 are also a good tire but cost quite a bit more. Either way you cant go wrong.
