I am getting so inspired by all the astrophotography! We leave next week for a long camping trip in Grand Staircase Escalante in Southern Utah. The skies there will be amazing and I can't wait to try out all the tips you've given me! :-)
Susan: You'll love it there! We've been a couple of times and went last March for the snow photos of Bryce. Astro up at Bryce Canyon is fantastic as well. You have the altitude, dry air and no lights for miles. During several times of the year they have a high school teacher or community college instructor comes up with his telescope and puts on a class GO ! it's very good. You'll be amazed at what you can see with a naked eye up there.... shooting stars every 10-15 seconds.. He points out all the constellations and things as well. The roads were all plowed and easy access.
Took this pic Monday morning. Honestly the photo doesn't serve this justice. We're presently at Elephant Butte SP, South Monticello Rec Area, roughly 15 miles north of Truth or Consequences, NM.
Two spots from our first season out in the trailer. One is from Ririe Reservoir in South East Idaho. The second is in a spot in an old mining district of rural Western Utah.
Cool looking shot. :starstruck: Last time I was there I noticed that someone had finally stopped that windmill from making annoying noises in the wind.
