Sorry, the footage is grainy but was quite far away and I had to crop the video. But you can make out the little kingfisher chowing down on a large fish given his size! Love watching them patrol the estuary everyday diving for a meal.
Got out for an afternoon oceanside walk between storm systems here in Campbell River. A little brisk with fall air and a stiff breeze but made for some clear air and picturesque scenes.
Oh, ya there are always some eagles around. :) Some live here all year and some come in for the salmon runs or mating season. During those times we'll see dozens. Usually, peak eagles are in the spring but haven't spent a winter here so will be interesting to see. So far I notice the duck population is increasing and more types showing up. Imagine they fly out to coast from the interior lakes to spend the winter.

Took a drive to the west side of Vancouver island few days ago checked out a few places.

Nice, used to often camp out at Ferry and Lizard lake growing up in Victoria, our school would even have camping trips out there. That lake can flood though, not uncommon to wake up with a flooded tent. :)
