Greg thank you for the link I actually saw that one and yes its just like what I have. I like how he installs the new one.
I am hoping to see if we can find away to blend out the old ghosting. From what I have been told may have to lightly wet sand first then cut polish then restore color and reseal. I will try to take photos :)

If the oxidation is light...then you might be able to buff it out with a mild rubbing compound...heavier oxidation will need to be sanded out! Here is a good article on the subject...when searching for information go to boat forums instead of RV forums!

Well we finally had the time and the weather to do the front cap of the Cougar! With all the suggestions here on the forum its done and looks so good. Thank you again. I got the old logo off with De Solve it, and hair dryer. Then hubby wet sanded #1000 sanding block, rinsed, used the oxidation remover, followed by polish then wax. Isopropyl rubbing alcohol wiped where logo was to go. Applied the decal using the hinged center method.

It was a little bit smaller than the original, but with all the pre work we were able to get most of the ghosting gone from the old decal.
