This is a bit of test footage I created while reviewing the Panasonic HomeHawk Window. Stay tuned for the full review in a few days.
It's generally used as a security camera for a home or even an RV. But as you can see the video footage it produces is good enough to make a cool timelapse. This is the estuary behind our campsite at Thunderbird RV Park in Campbell River BC. The footage shows a 7 hour + span with a lot of cloud action and the tide slowly making its way in from the ocean.
Very cool Ray. Would be kinda cool to make an album of differnt places you travel to and do sunrise/sunsets. Thanks for your inovation and ideas. There always helpful.
I am intrigued by that HomeHawk window camera for my home. But right now Amazon says "Currently unavailable. We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock." Bummer!
I sent an email into Panasonic and got a no reply form email back that they have nothing to do with direct sales anymore. LOL. I guess I will mark calendar to try Amazon again in a month Was it reasonably priced?
The info the sent me listed the MSRP as $149 The rep told me so far it's only available in the USA and not Canada yet. They have a bunch of different HomeHawk cameras, this new one was interesting as it just sticks to the inside of a window, no need to mount it outside.
I found these FAQs about the window model on the Panasonic website - https://panasonic.net/cns/pcc/support/homehawk/KX-HNC500.html
Very cool video, I've tried to do this with my GoPro and the battery always dies. :worry: Maybe I'll get a backup battery to keep it going. What are you using 30 seconds per photo?
Not for this time-lapse with the HomeHawk window cam, it is from the 24/ video recording. It records in HD saving 5-minute clips to its micro SD card, So I stitched them all together then sped the footage up. Took a few runs through the video editor.
It kinda cool, if something happens I have the footage recorded without setting anything up.
If I use my other regular cameras I usually set for 5 sec time-lapse still photos.
