With our snowbird trip canceled this year due to the ongoing virus restrictions, we will be hunkering down here on Vancouver Island. Winter weather is relatively mild on the Canadian west coast but can be extremely wet. Moisture build-up in the RV can be a major problem leading to mold and mildew, and even rot. So with that in mind, I knew I would need to get myself a good dehumidifier to keep the rig dry and cozy inside.

I decided on the Ivation 19 Pint Desiccant Dehumidifier since it's billed as an efficient cold weather dehumidifier, quiet running, plus compact and lightweight. Rated of 410 sq/ft, it should be perfect for winter camping in our 30-foot fifth-wheel trailer.

In this video, I demo my new Ivation dehumidifier then do a teardown giving you a look at the internal workings. Then I show it set up where we plan to use it in the rig. Its continuous drain hose will be installed and fed outside via a small opening at the slide room corner.

Overall early impressions are great! I'm happy with the design and quality of the internal components, and it performs as advertised. I'll use it for a few months as we get more into winter and the colder weather. Then come back with my longer-term review video.

In this video, I completely disassemble my Ivation 19 Pint Desiccant Dehumidifier and try to figure out why it sometimes rattles and knocks.
