I once owned a 1997 Pace Arrow Vision. We loved it but the generator (Onan 500) wasn't producing electricity in the cabin. I first thought it was the relay transfer switch, I thought this because the gen only had 250 hours on it and ran like a kitten. I purchased a new switch only to find still no power to the cabin. Had I gone to the gen at first and put my meter on it I would have seen it wasn't producing electricity and the reason was simply that the gen was not exercised over it's life time. In speaking with Onan they told me it's a matter of use it or lose it. As it was a major job to repair and the possibility of re-exciting the generator was unlikely I abandoned my efforts. Oh well the Pace Arrow is gone and I still have a new 15 amp relay transfer delay sitting on the shelf. So the moral of the story is if you have a generator you need to exercise on a regular basis ignorer to keep it operational.
