    Hi all,
I'm really just staring my YouTube channel and am in the market for a (free preferred) windows editing software. Any suggestions?

Davinci Resolve has a fully free version and feature-rich. Steep learning curve though but lots of tutorials on YouTube. https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/davinciresolve/

    DaVinci Resolve
Hollywood’s most popular solution for editing, visual effects, motion graphics, color correction and audio post production, all in a single software tool for Mac, Windows and Linux!

    Download DaVinci Resolve Free!
The best creative tools shouldn’t be limited to Hollywood. That’s why there’s a free version of DaVinci Resolve, so you can learn how to use the same tools that professional Hollywood artists use. DaVinci Resolve is designed to inspire creativity so you can focus on doing your best work. Once you learn the software and start using it for more work, you can purchase DaVinci Resolve Studio which adds tons of additional effects, 3D and more. Adding an editor keyboard, color control panel, or audio console lets you work even faster because you can use both hands at the same time, allowing you to be more creative and do things that are impossible with a mouse!

Myself, I use Corel VideoStudio because that's what I learned and it's not too expensive, they come out with a new version once a year https://www.videostudiopro.com/en/products/videostudio/ultimate/

I have used Lightworks free version for most of my videos. You can only upload at 720p with the free version, but the quality looks good on my TV and would take less time uploading to Youtube than a 1080p video. There are video tutorials and a forum you can use for help. You can check out my videos for quality at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCv2LUdlHMKtYIvfK-ftH5pw.

    Hi Lisa,

Having used DaVinci Resolve, I highly recommend it.

There are many great YT channels to help you along. Casey Farris (https://youtube.com/user/CaseyFaris777) is my go-to guy when I want to level up.

Thanks Jake, that's the software I downloaded (free and good is very persuasive). Thanks for the YT channel recommendation too, I'll need all the help I can get.
