Anybody install softstart on their rig, looks promising to me.

Yes, on both of our AC units. They make a big difference in the inrush amperage. Our Coleman units were suppled without any start caps at all so they were very unfriendly to our inverter starting up. Our 4000 watt inverter would start one with a fault light on the remote and wouldn't start the second with the other one running. After installing the micro air soft starts both units start easily. No fault warning.

Yes just installed and our Honda 2000 has no problem starting and running AC. Easy to install and if you need customer service you will find them very helpful, I called with a warranty question.

Same as RobBob, John. I looked for some coaching from the vendor as our Dometic 10K unit was different in some respects from their docs and video. Very helpful; very knowledgeable. FWIW I was finding that our EU2200 could start our 10K AC unit without the soft start...until we took the Lance up to 6500'. 3% loss of hp per 1000' of elevation gain was too much for the Honda. That's what led me to the soft start. So you're not just making it easier on your AC unit now but even moreso if you head up into the higher mountain ranges around North America. Have fun!

I've had great results with my soft start. I've got a 30 amp Class A and when I had solar installed I also had the soft start added. I do notice that it takes a few minutes longer to get the A/C up and running, but once it's on it's not even noticeable to me. And if I'm not crazy I swear it gives the batteries a boost and gives me over 4 hours of A/C when I'm on my 600Ah lithium batteries.

Note: I also purchased the EasyTouch thermostat and really like that I can change the setting from my chair!

Wow, thanks Lisa, sure looks worth looking into.
Can you give me a rough cost on them?
Remote control thermostat sounds great as well.

    Thanks,

There seem to be two popular ones on the market Micro Air and Soft Start I wonder if there is much difference?

John, I'm sure you can check Amazon for the current prices, I bought mine over a year ago and really don't remember what I paid. Good luck!
