Shaker Siphon Tip – Inexpensive Tool for Liquid Transfers
In this video, I show off my latest little gadget called the
Flowtool Shaker Siphon
. The shaker siphon is a handy low-cost tool for transferring liquids via gravity siphon.
Recently I needed to remove 25 gallons of marine gas out of my wife's boat as it had gotten too old and needed to be disposed of. The shaker siphon allowed me to easily transfer it into several gas cans.
It's a simple device but works great! There is a glass ball and spring inside a brass intake connected to 6 feet of vinyl hose. Shake the brass end up and down in the liquid you want to move, and in no time, a siphoned flow is created. It transfers at about 3.5 gallons per minute.
How did you dispose of the old gas? I can't find a way so far ...
Our local landfill and some recycle centers will take it for free but gas has to be in gas containers less than 25 liters and you may not get the container back. The landfill guy was able to give me 3 of my containers back by pouring them into some older ones he had and gave me a 30 dollar mail-in rebate paper for the other two.
Thanks, will give it a try ...
Those work great I have used mine alot.
Just be sure to clean the glass ball and brass fitting,
I didn't once and the fuel turned into shellac and never worked after that.
I'm getting one for water transfers into my RV, great idea and thank you.
