Take short trips first until you are comfortable with how things work and to make sure they work for you...

I would suggest watching all of the videos Ray- Love Your RV has posted. For example, he has one on how to change your own brakes. He took the time to show you how to completely take everything apart and rebuild. I might not tackle a brake job, but if I have an issue on the road and from watching Ray's video, I have general knowledge on what to look for to get me going. So one night, get the popcorn out and binge watch, you will enjoy.

    Hi & welcome!
Agree with starting with short trip, especially close to home. Our first time out, we made two trips home & one to Wally world!

I followed Ray for something like two years before I hit the road a couple of years ago. Anne was my photography go-to as well. I have been full-time from day one of loading my rig and setting out.
I have to look back and sort of laugh at how apprehensive I was. I had to remind myself that I was not on some kind of unsupported journey to the edge of the earth and more than likely I would not die without what I forgot.. After all, a Walmart is not more than a one hour drive from anywhere in the USA... (Kidding You.) All the best in your adventure! Enjoy the journey.

Thank you Rjack, yes...we have been following Ray for sometime and he is a wealth of great information. Grateful for all of the info and tips he shares. Is not the RV community the best!

Happy travels to you, Mike and Margo

I think I have needed to just follow my own interests and "who I am" as far as favorite places. I love photography, history and astronomy. I love people and sharing common interests with them but do not enjoy crowds and I suck at small talk. :) So just go with what fits who you are. My favorites have been pretty mixed. Valley of the Gods stands as number one. Farm field in Montana. Casper, WY for the eclipse in 17, 9500' on Rabbit Ears Pass in CO. Colorado National Monument, Moab. Verde Valley, (Sedona) There are many more.

Hello Mike and Margo. Welcome to the RV life! You are starting out with quite a Rig!

VW's-Travels: We learned of The Valley of the Gods on Rays channel. We absolutely loved camping there and riding our bicycles through the amazing landscape. We also enjoy getting away from the crowds and noise. Here was our spot in VOTG last year.

We went by and had Eddie install our solar in 2015. They had done the video about the valley so we went and stayed five days. We had to the best time watching traffic, unfortunate people from other countries with flats and fossel finders. We got up early one morning and went fossil hunting and as we were returning we came across a couple that stopped to ask if we wanted some water. We thanked them and off they go then I noticed they were from our home State of NC. Couple lived 25 miles below us back south in NC. Crazy how things happen. A german couple had a flat and had no Idea how to fix it. We helped them and they were so greatful and off they went. One couple pulled in the site and asked about moki dugway. We pointed the way and soon followed, that was fun. Had a monsoon show up and we had to get out of the ole red dirt unfortunately. Went back in 2017 and seen it again for found memories. Thanks to Rays videos and Love you RV we found them all.
