Gorgeous early May west coast day in Victoria today so headed down to a favorite spot along the Dallas road waterfront for a little beach combing. Here is a shot of a Great Blue Heron fishing in one of the tide pools. Mountains in the background are in Washington State on the Olympic Penisula
Will have some video footage of the area in the future

We've only been to Victoria once many years ago and really loved it. We will definitely visit again.

More from the area around Victoria. Took a little day trip along the coastline about 40 miles (70 km) to the west. Land of beautiful, wild ocean beaches. Great place to hike and unwind with nature. Lucked out with a warm early May day, temps in the upper 60s and low 70s (20C) and almost zero winds.

My sister shared her secret little getaway spot near Victoria with me a few days ago. Beautiful little lake and forested trails. While we were there I spied at least 8 eagles. Got to love Vancouver Island.

Growing up on Vancouver Island in the 70's there were a few around but was rare to see them since then they have banned a lot of the chemicals that were killing them off and they have rebounded dramatically, now they are all over the place, see them every day at our summer RV site in Campbell River. :)

In this video, I show you a bit of the beautiful coastline that surrounds my old home town of Victoria BC. Victoria is located on the southern tip of Vancouver Island surrounded by the ocean.

You'll get some footage of the pretty inner harbor and Clover Point Park. We'll see various boats, wildlife and get up close into the tide pools.

Stay tuned for part two when I take you 40-50 miles to the west of downtown Victoria to some wilder sections of the Pacific coastline.

In this second Coastal Views from Vancouver Island video, I take you along on a day trip about 40 miles west of Victoria BC.

We hike to a pair of my favorite west coast beaches, China Beach and Sand Cut Beach. I also show you the campground and views around Jordan River Regional Park.

The video finishes off with a look at the gorgeous property owned by the Point No Point Resort.
