I have a 2014 and very happy with its capabilities. Things to watch our for are pinhole leaks in the rad hoses, leaking rear diff pinion seals, and numerous recalls. One of the best sources of videos for maintenance of your unit is Marion Blair. Walmart has the best prices for DEF fluid.
We have a 2005 Dodge Cummins 2500 with 211,000 miles (5.9 l no DEF required) pulling a 35 foot Jayco 5th wheel. Wish we had the 6 rather than 4 speed transmission like yours Ray. Driving from Kansas to the Tetons we never slow down on grades. Sometimes the transmission shifts from 4th to 3rd gear but the speed never falls off. Our mileage pulling a 14,000 lb trailer at 60 mph is similar maybe a little better but not much.
Nice video Ray and glad your new truck is working out well for you and you like it. We are also very happy with our 2015 Ram Cummins DRW w.AISIN tranny and 3:73 gears. It carried our 3-slide Eagle Cap truck camper without issue and now having traded the TC in for our 35' Grand Design Solitude.
They are wearing out fast, a pretty cheapie tire I imagine. I'll likely replace with Toyo Open Country tires, they were the ones I used for my last two sets on my old truck and I was happy with them. Long life and quiet.
I get the HT all season model that's for mainly highway use as most of my driving is on the pavement. and I rarely encounter snow, mostly rain. https://www.toyotires.ca/tires/open-country-ht-all-season-highway
We replaced our tires last fall with SUMITOMO Encounter AT .
A buddy Halls cattle all year around and he recommended these tires .
We put on over 10,000 miles this year and the tires barely look like they've been touched.Did well in the desert and on highway low to no road noise .
Toyo Open Country are a wonderful tire, I ran them for years up in the gravel roads in Wyoming. You may want to give the Toyo M-55 a look also. This the tire that I ran on our Chevy 1-ton hauling our 40' 5er.
Happy Trails...Pal!!!
Thanks, I still lean towards the Toyo HT as off road isn't that important compared to wet traction, fuel mileage, and a quiet ride. We are on the highway so much.
Good deal, the reason i swapped open country's for the M-55's is the higher weight rating and stronger side wall. Toyo Open Country is a great tire!
Happy Trails...Pal!!!
