We have our regular truck and trailer insurance from ICBC.
We also buy special full-timer RV insurance to cover the new replacement cost of the rig, contents up to 10,000 and several million in personal liability. Costs us about $800 per year.
We got it through a Cooperators agent in Victoria - http://www.cooperators.ca/

I see that Coast Capital also has it - https://www.coastcapitalinsurance.com/RVInsurance/
Full Timer's Package available includes personal comprehensive liability

The one thing you need to think about, is that normal RV/Auto insurance (without a home) does not cover any personal items in the RV. If you have home owners insurance, then your personal items should be covered (less your deductible). I would check with your own insurance company to make sure. You may need a special special type of insurance to cover your personal items.

As an agent in MI. Progressive does cover some personal property, clothing, etc. in the rig. Other companies, Auto-Owners for one, has full time coverage for vehicle and RV and you can add contents coverage along with coverage for the rig.

Check out - AARP Hartford - I'm a full timer and have this coverage - RV/Auto/Content. They will write the policy for a full year and you can make monthly payments.

I just got a $165 speeding ticket from a pole mounted speed camera so my insurance will jump when I renew it in December.

The entire highway, except for a short section with a red light & speed camera is 55 mph. I was doing 56 & discovered that little revenue generating section is 45 mph. Once you pass it the speed limit goes back to 55.

I had a speeding ticket in 1999, moved from CT to OR & got one in 2014 & another in 2018. Since they were more than 3 years apart I was able to pay the fines & take a $50 online course (twice) so they'll stay off my record. This one will show up & Geico keeps them on your record for six $%^&* years!

They would probably have something similar here in Saskatchewan through the Saskatchewan Motor Club (CAA). Thanks for the information.

Similar concept near Buffalo, NY. Locals know about it, so they nail the tourists that don't. Should be a banned practice since it, literally, is only designed to generate revenue, not as a safety item. Happened to a friend attending a Bills game.

Within the past two weeks the Governor Texas Governor signed in excess of 200 laws and one is a complete ban of all photo cameras. When I lived in CT a private company set up cameras & split the extortion monies with the State. Just another reason I'm happy I don't live there anymore.

We use a company that is recommended by the RVillage.com group. FCIS is the agent. They use progessive as the underwriter. Pregressive is one of the few that insure full Timers. The RV is insured with them too.
