In this video, I locate and repair an intermittent connection in my Dometic 9100 RV power awning 12VDC supply wiring. The wireless remote worked fine; however, the manual switch most times wouldn’t move the awning. Only a faint clicking could be heard. So, I removed the control panel and had a look at the switch and wiring feeding it.

Using a multimeter, I discovered a wire crimp connector had become flakey, causing the intervention operation. To repair, I cut out the OEM crimps and installed new butt connector style crimps. Awning functions returned to normal. During the repair, I also explain how the reversible awning switch works.

Loose connections, they do present issues at times. Thanks Ray for the reminder.

I would surmise there is a master power supply to the awning from the remote via relays. It would be interesting to see the wiring diagrams for the set up.
We have an "Pro Plus iN Command" system that runs our awnings, jacks, some lights, etc. It doesn't keep me up at night worrying if it will fail, but if it does, it will make life interesting, to say the least!
I'd rather have switches for back ups to the system.
    Nice fix!

Yes, here is my fifth wheels main control unit. The toughest part is knowing where the heck they have run the wiring, In the event of a failure of a buried wire, likely easier to just run a fresh one.
