LCI Flow Max Stainless Faucet Install + New Sink

    In this video, our Keystone Cougar kitchen gets a large upgrade. I remove the 9-year-old dual plastic faucets and replace them with beautiful looking single stainless steel unit.

    The Flow Max RV faucet I chose is made from 304-grade stainless steel and comes with a pull-down handle and 2 spray patterns.

    For installation, I drilled a 1 1/2 inch hole in my countertop and inserted the faucet fixing it in place via a collar nut from below. Then I screwed the hot and cold line into the existing OEM plastic PEX connections. To finish the install, I attach an included clamp-on weight to the pull-down faucet cable. The weight allows the faucet head to smoothly retract back in place after pulling it down.

    When I decided to upgrade the faucet I also decided to upgrade the sink. LCI has an assortment of stainless steel sinks to compliment the Flow Max faucets but didn't have the dimensions and style I was looking for. So I sourced a kitchen sink from a Canadian company called Stylish KB and purchased it myself off Wayfair.ca (see links below).

    The new kitchen sink upgrade didn't go quite as planned and I hit a few snags. The sink is a little too small for the existing counter hole and one of the drains interferes with a kitchen drawer. Stay tuned for a future video where I'll solve those issues and let you know how we like the new Flow Max faucet.

    I assume you guys are stationary now, you could make a paper template and have a solid surface countertop cut to fit the sink and make any fine refinements on the sinks location as well.

    A little more money but would sure look nice. :)

    That's a decent idea but not sure if I want to open that can of worms, the counter is still in pretty good shape.
    I installed some cheap plastic trim and got the sink all mounted and both drains working. The plan is to replace the plastic with metal and add a fancy cutting board as a sink cover. The trim sits up about 3/8ths inch then I'll add rubber feet the same size to the cutting board so the board will stay in place and when I shift it to the side it will remain nice and flat. Should work well and give us more counter space.
    I'll shorten the drawer and add a cubby hole.

    I also have an LCI kitchen spigot in my truck. FYI, the little handle is threaded and has a bad habit of backing out. I put a little teflon tape on the threads to hold it in place. If you lose that little handle down the sink drain....you will have quite a job on your hands trying to find it.

    Here’s another update on the new stainless steel faucet and sink upgrade in our Keystone Cougar. I modded another drawer again, cutting a notch out to accommodate the faucets retractable hose weight. The mod gives me a little more length on the pull out faucet handle.

    So far, I’m happy with the new LCI Flow Max faucet. A stylish and functional upgrade from the old OEM plastic faucets. The only minor quibbles I have is it drips a bit after use, likely something to do with the retractable hose. And, the hot and cold flow adjustment lever comes loose easily. I’m continually having to retighten. Will figure a way to keep it tight. Maybe wrap the threads with a little tape.

    I love the new sink! Stainless steel is so much nicer than plastic. The larger size and depth of the main sink is a real bonus. It makes doing the dishes much more manageable as more and larger things fit. I also can hide many more and larger dirty dishes in it.

    Finally, to complete this kitchen upgrade, I bought myself a beautiful 24″ x 18″ x 2″ Teak Butcher Block style cutting board. It will act as a sink cover extending our counter space and gives us a terrific work area for food prep.

    I chose Teak because it’s natural water resistance. Even so, I have found I have to dry out the sinks before covering to prevent warping the board.
