Greetings all, I'm finally back in Arizona where I'll be wintering until March. My question is, I've never stayed long-term in one place and wonder ... do I drain my water tank for that time or just keep some water in it? I'm wondering if it'll get mold or algae? Any ideas?
I would add a little bleach to the tank and then fill it the extra bleach should keep it clean and if you lose water at the RV park you can just turn the pump on use your water.
I usually do what RVsolar said, I add about a cup of bleach to my 60-gallon tank and keep it full, at least I have dishwashing and toilet water if the park water gets turned off for maintenance, I also keep some drinking water in jugs. Another benefit of having the tank full is it adds lots of weight to the rig to help keep it more stable in the wind. Then when it gets close to departure I flush it out a few times.
All good ideas, no one has said to left it empty like it is now. Is that a bad idea? oh by the way I have more than enough weight for stability so that's not an issue.
