In this video, I continue my Winter RVing preparations by adding 3M plastic film insulation to the RV windows. Then hook up my new Camco heated freshwater hose rated for -40 Fahrenheit.
These new additions join EZ Snap RV Skirting, an Ivation Dehumidifier, and an Outland Propane Fire Bowl in our growing winter RVing keep warm arsenal.
Hi Ray and Ann,
Mark from Lake Country BC yes I know moved from Langley. On the smoker saw at the local Homehard/ Ace store the Treugar ranger $ 549 cnd.
As for the windows could you put the silver bubble on 1st then add the plastic film to seal ?
PS always enjoy your videos and info take care.

Thanks, Mark, probably could but figure it's better on the inside, then I can take it off if we want to have the daylight. It's just held in place by the blind.
Looks, like a good option, I just wasn't sure how well some of these heat tapes and pipe heaters would work with RV fresh water hoses. Seems they are more designed for plastic and metal plumbing pipes.
Howdy @Ray!
3- below 0 last night, and the "Mobile Homestead" is holding a comfortable 72- above! We heat her with one Wave-8 cat heater in the main kitchen/Livingroom and a Wave-6 cat heater in each bedroom. The main Wave-8 was on high but the two Wave-6's where on low, so that is around 14,000 BTU's. We did not skimp on the insulating of our custom 5er, and it paid off both in the heat and the cold weather. I'm so glad we took on the project to build our custom RV the "Mobile Homestead"!
BTW- We are still "Off-Grid" running on our solar power........
Happy Trails!!!
We will be heading south for Texas after the 3rd, so we won't need skirting.
We had our Copper Canyon 5er skirted and heated down under. We had several weeks of around -35 below F. Even with two electric heaters we went through 100lbs of propane in a week easily. We are so glad we built our "Mobile Homestead" home on wheels!

In this video, I peel off the 3M insulating window film. We see how hard it is to get the tape off the window frame after 6 months.
Then I update you on the yellowed area that the 3M no residue duct tape left on the white sidewall of my trailer. Seems after a month or so in the sun, it's completely vanished!
