Recently one of my YouTube viewers commented that it would be helpful to post a list of RV products that may not be worth buying. That got me thinking, and I went back and had a look at all the items I have reviewed over the years.
Now I’m pretty picky about products I decide to buy or review, so, for the most part, I haven’t had too many bad things to say. But I did find the following nine RV products that, for various reasons, at least for me personally, I can put into the “dud” classification.
I'd like to add a couple more. First, the "cyclone"-type vent pipe caps. I'd have been smarter to save my money. What is your experience with them (if any)?
The second one was a two piece thermostat that I was hoping would do a decent job with my fake fireplace heater. This unit had a ten degree window of regulation...almost useless.
The Eternabond tape I have, some is now over is 5 years old and I can tell you it would never peel-off so easily. I'd need a heat gun and a razor blade and even then it would leave a lot of the sealant behind
One caveat though is maybe that rig has sat in the Arizona sun for many years. I'm not sure what over 100F for a few months each year and over 300 sunny days would do to it.
I'm having Lippert ship me out a batch of the products to test out, I think I will this spring replace my slide-out rubber roof as it is getting quite spotted with black dots so assume the white coating is wearing away.
I saw that Alpha Systems has a replacement membrane - https://alphallc.us/products/roofing/ so figured I would give it a try on the slide. My main roof isn't too bad yet.
