Our Truck Camper is right at 12'-8" so 13' is our safe number. Surprisingly we come across fueling stations often that are 12' or 12'-6" Some even shorter. Those are usually all dented up.

This is a good number to know well. We haven't hit anything yet except for some branches that were too low and didn't cause any damage.

Don't be this guy! Fortunately it sounds like nobody was hurt. Scary to watch. :gasp:

Keystone lists ours as 11'6". I added vent covers and measured and we were at 12' 6" and use 13 foot as our safe margin.

If you ever want to see a ton of low bridge hits head over to the 11 foot 8 inch YouTube channel Usually the RVs lose the AC units

"The 11foo8 bridge is a railroad trestle over Gregson St in Durham, North Carolina and it has earned a reputation for for its rigorous enforcement of the laws of physics. No truck taller than 11 feet and 8 inches will pass under this stubborn piece of infrastructure. Period. On this channel we document the various attempts of hapless drivers trying to get past this bridge. Some try to be sneaky, some try to be quick, some try to argue, but the bridge always wins. There is a reason why the locals call it the "canopener!""

I’ve seen some of those videos. Apparently there is a major utility under the road at that train overpass that won’t allow them to go deeper. A lot of carnage done by that bridge. Read the signs!

I’m 13’1” on my Cedar Creek fifth wheel. I’ve gone under a railroad trestle in OR that was listed at 13’6” in one direction and 13’4” in the other without touching. The last time, I taped two popsicle sticks to the A/C shroud one at 13’6” and the other at 13’8”. The longer one was missing so pretty close. Was kind of nervous the first time through there. A friend who lived near the trestle mentioned that when the pavement was redone, they spent some effort maintaining the same clearance.

It would fit, driver just needed to get a running start. (Smirk)

On a serious note, I’m 13’4” in my Montana. 13’6” is my comfort zone

We're at 11'4" with our Bornfree Class C. That's to top of old satellite housing. We'll be removing that this spring and probably add another solar panel.

I'm an old semi truck driver, 48 states and Canada. None of our trailers were over 13' 6". Most states 13' 6" is the max height for any vehicle, some go to 14'. Here is a site for general rules by state- https://drivinglaws.aaa.com/tag/trailer-dimensions/
