Wish I had a telephoto lens for this view from the BC ferry the other day of Mount Baker in Washington State. The best I could do zoomed in with my cell phone. Was a pretty scene.
Nice image (above) of your desert sunset. We're looking forward to heading down after the end of Jan. this photo is from our back window at Saddle Mtn 2 years ago...
Dang! the Pacific Northwest weather has caught up with us. But I imagine the southern California people are happy to see it. Palm Springs news said they have had 57 days with no rain.
Makes for some nice photos too.
Still enjoying the wide-open spaces and sunshine camped on the Salton Sea. A cold front a couple of days ago added a little frosting to the mountains above Palm Springs.
Love the contrast of nature down here. It's the desert but, snowy mountain as a backdrop and seagulls and pelicans flying around the sea.
Yesterday we took a little side trip to visit a nature preserve near the Salton Sea. At first glance, the hills look totally barren but hidden is a little oasis of palm trees. Cool to see in their natural state. Video to come.
Diffidently a cedar waxwing. Bandits (flocks up to 80) that pillage berries on bushes such as holly. We see them once a year when they come to raid our bushes.
Desert tortoise Saddle Vista Ranch, Tonopah Arizona. While we were at Saddle Mountain BLM we dump and fill our tanks here and they have a cool pair of tortoises to check out and many farm animals. :)
Dave has quite the place & is a fun guy to get in a discussion with... Has some strong opinions that we like to challenge him on (in a civil & polite way ) We'll see him next month.
This guy was walking about 15-20' off our trail in Joshua Tree and I thought I saw a big rock moving...img]/uploads/resized/files/it/x75ndylwwk4iy52l.jpeg[/img]
