https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZaU4pHfIWBdmnIh9rNvwCV5OXYEUa2B2/view?usp=sharingThanks to a video Ray did on his leaking slideout repair, I had the courage to tackle a similar issue on our 2008 Keystone Montana 3000RK. Water seems to have wicked into the plywood due to the lack of flashing on the rear sidewall. Whereas Ray had to cut out about 14" along the back wall, I had to go back 36". I should have the new plywood in today and then tackle the lack of flashing by adding 2" aluminum angle trim. Thanks Ray!
Snag: Manual says floors are 5/8” but slide floor seems to be 3/4”. Could it have swelled after moisture over 14 years?
Mine was 3/4 inch. Before you use aluminum watch my update clip video on the repair https://youtu.be/egxkuBMxapw?t=139 The aluminum leaves black oxide on the floor. Cleans off but is a pain, I think stainless would have been better. OEMs now us plastic
When Greg did the flashing on our slide ends, where he removed the bottom molding and slid a bit of the 90° bend up behind the fiberglass, and the rest under the slide bottom, he uses stainless steel. We haven’t had any issues with that.
Thank you for the tips Ray and Lorraine. My repair is done at last. I’ll monitor for black oxide in the days ahead. And yes, my floor was the standard 3/4”.
Dropped off the 5W at the storage unit 4 days ago, 100% charge.
Came back this morning, charge at 20% and 12.4 volts on the battery,
Never had this problem before, doubled checked everything, battery was still disconnected.
Pulled it out into the sun, battery went to 14.4v.
Have 3 AGM batteries, 4 years old.
