We will be doing some BLM and boondocking this spring and summer and want a good secure 5th wheel King Pin Lock for when we are away from the RV. What brands / types should we consider? Thanks!

    I have one like this

    It's a Husky brand

I assume it will help reduce an impulse crime or kids messing around but not so much defense to a real criminal. For example, they could show up with a second pin box and a torque wrench and quickly swap.
For all the boondockers out there I haven't heard too much about fivers being stolen.

I have a similar lock but I rarely use it when boondocking. More often when the RV is in storage.

Thanks for the responses! We have never had anything stolen but still better safe than sorry! Cheers!

I have a similar lock, but only use it while in storage, but then we don't boondock either. I did replace the lock with one from Boltlock.com . I like those locks because the locks work off your trucks ignition key - one less lock-key to keep track of.

Well, I have one, used it maybe 3-4 times. I figure if someone can figure out how to get my slides in and hydraulic jacks up, then more power to them!
Thats just me, but if it makes your feel better, then go with one.
